Based in beautiful upstate New York, our founder, Alli shares her story
"two bouts of poison ivy turned the wonder I had for my Hudson Valley garden into stress.
I couldn't shake the fear of accidental exposure (for a third time). It kept me inside for months. To break its spell, I needed gardening gloves that did a better job of keeping me covered. Not ones that were stiff, wimpy, and stopped at the wrist. Not ones that overcorrected with bulk suited for summiting Everest instead of sowing lettuce. Not every glove on the market, essentially.
Then I finally found them: gardening gloves like no other. They fit to the form of my gangly limbs, felt really good on my skin, and stretched way up to keep my arms from ticks and scratches..
Of course the gloves were made by someone who gets gardening—a local horticulturalist. I got giddy, wrote her fan mail, and met up with her for lunch. Before I could toast to continued success, she told me that she planned to retire and close the 25-year-old business.
I responded, 'I'll buy it!'
